But you’ll see in the Starlight Shores house that spending a little bit more time gives better results. Once I’ve stashed away the bits and pieces I want to keep, I sell the rest and use that money to furnish the space more thoughtfully for the family.Ī simple quick fix of copying and pasting the floor tiles in a different pattern was all it needed here.
The very first thing I do when the Sims move in is sell some assets, the good thing about EA houses is that behind every door you’ll find a room filled with mirrors, artwork, plants and clutter. The developers have given us some really nice wallpapers and floors to play with and shown how layering the different textures and designs can create original decorations. Ignoring the furious clash between glaring bright colour palettes of the rooms and the dimly lit corridor that looks more creepy hotel than elegant mansion flat. Well it’s a bit ugly, but there are some diamonds in the rough. This is such a huge building I’ve included two before collages…
Apart from the pesky paparazzi of course, they just wander in and out regardless. The lots are categorised as commercial or residential and no matter how many public room markers I put in the public stayed away. But, I tried every way possible to make it work and it just won’t. I really liked the Two-in-One building, because I thought the open plan ground floor would make a great workshop and car showroom. And Barry, Josh and Vince have moved to Roaring Heights.
Hanson and Abrielle are going to start a new life/game in Lucky Palms. They bought the same house that Barry Gilbert had started out in, although I hadn’t realised at the time.Īnother ‘out of the blue’ moment occurred when Vince proposed to Josh, I think he was even more shocked than I was! With a career in the military and a shiny black motorcycle in his pocket, Hanson moved out and married Abrielle King his childhood sweetheart. But little Josh hadn’t really done anything remarkable up until now. I had also noticed Hanson attracting some very pretty girlfriends and his athletic and adventurous traits made me think he could be an astronaut one day. The game started out with me wanting to play ‘shop’ with Barry’s small business, I wanted to see how big we could make it and how rich he could become. Then I thought maybe Barry had a girlfriend somewhere else and this was another one of his offspring, finally the game loaded and I discovered he was Josh’s boyfriend and he had moved in! That’s when the game really got going. At first I thought he was a lodger, but then I noticed he was too young. While I was waiting for the game to load I tried to figure out where he’d come from. And so I loaded the saved game and found there was a new face on the family screen. As you can see from the screenshot there’s nothing left of the original house that was on that plot, but in map view the car lot vanishes and the ugly old house is back on the lot.īut the pull of the game is too strong sometimes, I really liked this family and Honest Barry was selling cars like a true wheeler dealer so even with the weird glitch I couldn’t stay away. Then the game developed a very annoying, strange glitch and I lost interest for a while. The family moved from their little starter home to a larger property that looked like it could have been a petrol station once, it gave me inspiration anyway! So I demolished the house next door and built a new car lot for ‘Honest Barry’s Autos’
